Meet Me in St. Louie

A little love for local artists, since our beloved city is in the nation's spotlight for some sporting event or other. :P

I think you should give a little love to all the chefs who make the best St. Paul sandwiches.

*After Google* Hmmm, I was completely unaware of this St. Louis delicacy, but it looks pretty yummy. I will have to try one very soon!

You're kidding? Isn't that like me telling you that I had to look up "Fajita"?

Pretty sure fajitas are rather more well known than St. Paul Sandwiches. I don't recall seeing St. Paul Sandwiches on the menu of the likes of Applebee's.

Sure. But if I'm from Philadelphia, it's expected that I know what a cheese steak is. Or if I'm from Louisville, a Hot Brown, or a Cuban Torta in Miami.

Right, right. But in St. Louis, the iconic foods are toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake and our peculiar thin crust pizza with provel cheese. Perhaps the sandwich is more well known than I imagine, but I have lived here my whole life and have never once heard of a St. Paul!

Anyway, I humbly accept being schooled about my own city's cuisine by a non-local. :P

Seriously, they need to put this stuff on the public school curriculum and taught by the lunch lady. I can't remember the last time I had to use the Pythagorean Theorum, but I wish I was taught about the local cuisine of Chicago.
